Tollesbury Congregational Church (TCC), has been at the heart of this small village for more than 150 years. It was recognised, twenty years ago, that the fellowship of 25 members could not, of itself, support the buildings and the possibility of further community activities. After consultations with the wider community Tollesbury Community Association (TCA) was born and gained charitable status in 2007. TCA leases the buildings from the Congregational Federation Ltd(CFL)
The benefit for the Church is that TCA is responsible for the maintenance of the building, bookings and sub let part of the building to a pre-school. The building hosts a number of community activities, pantomime delivered by Tollesbury Amateur Players is an annual highlight, as well as film shows, dance classes, keep fit classes, as well as church activities.

Tollesbury is a very community minded village with lots of activities, and is home to the renowned Fellowship Afloat Sailing Trust, which is a christian based activity centre based in a converted lightship "Trinity" . FACT has had a significant presence in the village for over 50 years and provides residential outdoor activities for schools, groups, and individuals. Activities include sailing, high rope course, climbing wall, canoeing, power boat courses. www.fact.org.uk
Tollesbury Wick is an established nature reserve managed by Essex Wildlife Trust
There are regular daily bus services to Maldon, Witham, Colchester, where main line train services can be accessed. There are no buses scheduled on Sundays or bank holidays.
The village has an independent pub the Kings Head, a sailing club, Royal British Legion, Harbour View bistro situated in the Marina, Morrisons Daily, a butchers, hairdressers. The population is approximately 3,000 people with a junior school, and independent pre school
St. Mary's, Church of England, sits very close to the Congregational church and engages in many joint services during the year.
