Who are we?
Our Church family consists of a wide range of different people, from all
ages and different backgrounds. Whoever you are you are assured a very
warm welcome at our Church. (See also the welcome page)
When to arrive:
If it's your first visit then it's probably best to turn up around
10.15am on Sunday. Messy Church meets every third sunday of the month if you have young children. If you are driving then you'll be pleased to hear that there is
plenty of free parking in the village square and connecting roads. For directions to reach us please see the Find Us
page. You'll be greeted on the door by our welcoming team who will give
you some information about the church and notices of forthcoming
events. We are an informal
church and accept people as they are, and where they are on their faith journey.
What to expect:
For some people going anywhere for the first time can be a bit daunting. To help avoid any anxiety here's a quick
summary of what you can expect at our Church. First of all we aren't
super-spiritual beings, we all had a 'first day' at church, you'll find
we are a friendly and inclusive, if you don't understand something please simply
ask. We start our meeting at 10.30am. This is sometimes led by a visiting speaker or its a 'members led' meeting where a church member will lead with other members being involved, there may be testimony, but always reflection and open prayer. A few minutes of notices
keeps us informed of diary dates etc, then we spend about 60 minutes
worshipping. Communion is shared monthly. Our worship time consists of studying God's word and its relevance to our daily lives, with modern songs as well as some of the older favourite hymns (with guitars,
keyboards and string / wind instruments). Everyone participates in the worship. We normally conclude our meeting around midday,
with tea and coffee. Our aim is that, whether you are just looking into
Christianity for the first time, or have been a Christian for many years, you should be encouraged and inspired by the morning. We hope that
everyone will draw closer to God and hopefully build lasting friendships.
What we believe:
We are a Christian church and believe that all can have relationship
with God. We believe this relationship with God is possible because
of Jesus (God's son) who invites us to follow him. We have friendly
relationships with other local churches from both traditional and
modern backgrounds. If you are interested in exploring the Christian
faith then please come along on a Sunday or refer to contact page to ask for more information.
Is it just Sundays?
Absolutely not! God is with us all week long and we aim to lead lives
pleasing to him and each other. We're not perfect and we do make mistakes, but we
desire to make a positive difference in everything we do. To further
encourage us we have midweek small groups (a small group is simply a
meeting of maybe 2-4 people in someone's house). There is a weekly prayer meeting in the Village Larder situated in the main building on a Tuesday evening from 7.00PM.
Small groups are a great way to get to know others in the church and to be real with each other about everyday living. If you are just looking into Christianity you are welcome to come along to a small group but you may prefer to join a Christianity Explored Group, or Bible study group. Christianity Explored is a great way to find out more about God and the claims of Christianity. No question is too simple and you'll find other people also exploring God for the first time.
For those with special requirements:
We aim to be an accessible inclusive church. However our resources are limited so
we try to provide for our current attendees. If you wish to discuss
specific needs please refer to contact page.
Our premises are accessible for those with mobility issues. We have arrangements for transport for those who may need it. Both the kitchen and toilets
